DESCRIPTION:San Jose Against War will be watching The Revolution Will not be Televised\, a 2003 film focusing on events in Venezuela leading up to and during the April 2002 coup d’état attempt\, which saw President Hugo Chávez removed from office for two days. \nWhile the makers of this film are scrupulous in avoiding attributing the origins of the coup against the popular and progressive\, democratically elected\, Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and his constitutional government\, this contemporary film footage makes it abundantly clear that the imperialist government and state agencies of the United States of America are behind this illegal and anti-democratic coup. \nIt is particularly important and timely to relive and remember this anti Chávez coup\, at the present moment in early 2019\, as the US is again attempting to remove the democratically elected president\, and close comrade of Chavez\, Nicholas Maduro. \nThere is no crime that capital will not commit to secure a high profit margin\, and Venezuelan proven oil reserves are the largest on Earth. She dedicated her youth to political activism in Caracas neighborhoods\, focusing her activism on grassroots communication\, and co-founded Catia TV (2000-2003). \nHer commendable dedication to communicating the voice of the people in various spaces led to her being called by Commander Chávez to numerous positions\, including the Presidency of VTV (2005); Founder and President of the Venezuelan Telecommunications Corporation S.A.\, Public Television Vive TV (2003-2010); Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information (2009); Principal Deputy for the Portuguese State (2011-2016); Second Vice President of the National Assembly (2011\, 2012\, 2013 and 2014); President of the Permanent Commission of Popular Power and Media of the National Assembly (2014-2015); Head of the Parliamentary Delegation of Parlasur (2014-2015); Member of the board of directors of Parlasur\, (2015-2015); Minister of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality (2016-2018); Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements (2018-2020). \nShe is currently a Member of Parliament and President of the Commission for the Development of Communes of the National Assembly of Venezuela. She is also President of the Simón Bolívar Institute Foundation for Peace and Solidarity among Peoples. She is also Political Liaison of the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) for the state of Portuguesa. She is also President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Argentina in Venezuela.
